BUYING
FAQ'S
How
important is good credit and when should I start worrying about it?
The
better your credit, the better your position will be in purchasing anything,
especially a house. Before you start making decisions that will affect
your credit report, the smartest thing would be to consult a lender
and work on a beneficial plan together. Some things that may seem like
a good idea, like closing out all your charge cards, could actually
backfire and work against you.
What
is pre-approved?
The
best favor you can do for yourself is to talk to a lender. I have several
I work with and can put you in contact with someone who will determine
the amout of house that will be a good fit with you and your lifestyle.
An offer from a pre-approved buyer is considered a much stronger offer
and looked upon much morre favorably by sellers.
What
if I can't afford a mortgage?
I've
been told there are currently about 300 different lending plans available
and most people find at least 2-4 different options they can consider.
Right now interest rates are still very competitive and it's a great
time to get more for your money.
What's
a home inspector and where do I find one?
A
home inspection is a wise move - it means you hire a professional who
inspects the house on your behalf, and provides you with a report of
his or her findings. It's an excellent way to reassure yourself about
the soundness of your homebuying decision. As a REALTOR, I have a list
of home inspectors from which you can choose.
